Our story

Three decades of planning travel from Nashville

Dove Travel & Cruises International opened in Nashville in June 1994. We are a full-service travel company, and from the first day our goal has been the same: to meet all of your travel needs and to make even a complicated itinerary feel easy.

We specialize in cruises for families and groups, escorted and independent tour packages, European tours, honeymoon and anniversary trips, destination weddings, mission trips and Holy Land tours. Our destination specialists match what you want with the right trip, then handle every booking so you can simply relax and go.

We have learned that our success is not measured by what we say about ourselves. It is measured by the travelers who come back, and who send their friends and families to us.

Meet Andy Obot, owner of Dove Travel & Cruises International

Andy Obot is the owner of Dove Travel & Cruises International and has worked as a travel agent in Nashville, Tennessee since he opened the agency in June 1994. For more than 30 years he has planned cruises, all-inclusive vacations, honeymoons, guided tours, destination weddings and international flights for individuals, families and groups across Middle Tennessee and the country.

Andy built the agency on a simple idea: a traveler should have one person to call. He still works with clients directly from the office on Donelson Pike, comparing options across cruise lines, resorts and the leading tour operators the agency represents, including Globus, Trafalgar, Viking and others. When plans occasionally change mid-trip, his clients call him, not a call center.

Under his ownership the agency has been a Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited business since 1996 with an A+ rating. Dove Travel is a member of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), is accredited by IATA and ARC, and is a Certified Sandals Specialist. Nashville media, including NewsChannel 5, have turned to Dove Travel for a local travel agent's perspective.

Where our clients come from

The office is a few minutes from Nashville International Airport. Most clients plan with us by phone or email, so we regularly work with travelers from Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville and across Tennessee.

Mr Andy has worked with my family for almost 2 decades and our experience is ALWAYS top notch! From the flights, to airport pickups & drop offs, hotel accommodations, local tours and tour guides, we have been extremely satisfied.
Mr Andy worked with us on our trip to Nigeria - Rwanda- Qatar in August. It was EPIC!!!.
Dove Travels was raising the bar at each stop! Even a layover in Nairobi was just enough time to enjoy some pampering in Kenya.
We had amazing luxury spacious vehicles pick us from & drop us off at the airport. Mr Andy arranged the best accommodations, local tours/excursions and the tour guides always became friends.
Our final destination on this trip was Doha, Qatar. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt. Our stay in Doha and the activities planned EXCEEDED our expectations in EVERY WAY.

Andy was responsive to all our questions and helped us on multiple occasions- for example, we missed a deadline ahead of our cruise and he helped us rebook and ended up saving us ~2k on the total vacation package. Additionally, when the airline cancelled our flight last minute, Andy stepped in to wrangle with the airline to ensure we were still able to sit together as a family and saved us money when the airline tried to charge us upgrade fees on seats. We contact Andy for our family Dream trip to Europe , he was very helpful on all aspects and planned a great trip ,we had a great time ,we love our tour guide Chris who took us on a amazing trip, unfortunately his task ended in Paris and we continue to London and although  everything was great beautiful hotel just like the others , Chris raise the bar too high and we notice a huge difference on the guy who did the  guiding in London , per example during Rome Switzerland and France we all got a hearing device and Chris always made sure we all got conected and able to listen to the entirety of the tour in London we did not , the guy there was talking and walking at the same time and at times did not hear what he was saying , Chris always wait for those that had issues keep it up with the group, the London guy did not if you wasn't close when he explained the tour you missed the information.
